color film. The story follows Nellie from the time she leaves her family's cattle ranch in Australia to Paris, where she begins her voice training
for the opera. Melba debuts in Brussels, is a smash hit and international fame follows. Marrying a suitor from Australia who tires of his place in
her shadow, the relationship ends, and the great singer carries on alone.
